Good
morning to you, today is Thursday, February, 16, and I am your humble host, the
sultan of satire, the purveyor of non-pertinent information and as always the troublemaker
extraordinaire and I am coming to you recorded from the Eagle’s nest here at
wake up central with news you can’t use here on the Thursday edition of The
Morning Wake Up Call.

Valentine’s Day Role
Play
One
couples’ bondage role play on Valentine’s Day ended in handcuffs, but not
the fuzzy kind.
Portland,
Ore., police received a call Tuesday afternoon that a naked woman was tied up
in the back of a Subaru last seen leaving a supermarket parking lot.
Police
deployed “at least nine cars” to look for the SUV and even alerted authorities
in Washington in case the car crossed the state line.
Twenty
minutes later, the Subaru was seen pulling into the driveway of the registered
owner’s address.
Nikolas
Harbar, 31, who was the driver, told police that he and his girlfriend were
“doing some Valentine’s Day role playing.”
Once
police confirmed with Stephanie Pelzner, 26, that she was voluntarily nude and
tied up, they slapped a pair of cuffs on the couple and booked them on one
charge of disorderly conduct in the second degree.
“Role-play
all you want,” Sgt. Pete Simpson told ABC affiliate KATU.
“But when you do something that is going to generate a 911 call, you should
probably do it at home.”
Super Hero Dad
Tommy Jordan has become somewhat of a hero to
millions of parents. Jordan is the dad who found a secret Facebook post his
daughter wrote about not wanting to do chores and said Jordan and his wife (the
girl’s mother) treated her as a “slave.” He didn’t take kindly to that. So he
recorded an eight-minute video that showed him reading the note while smoking a
cigarette and ended with him shooting nine “exploding hollow point” rounds into
the girl’s computer.
Well, the story doesn’t
end there. In a new post on Jordan’s Facebook page, he says that
numerous people called the police and child protective services as a result of
his viral (millions of hits) video. And both paid him a visit.
“For
those that feel the need to keep calling the police and CPS,” the Stanly
County, North Carolina resident writes, “lol.“ Those letters are the universal
symbol for ”laugh out loud.”
He‘s laughing because
both the police and child protective services didn’t find anything wrong.
“Apparently both the
local police and the department of social services are OK with it. Yes they
came. Of course they came. They received enough ‘Oh my god he’s going to kill
his daughter’ comments that they had to. I knew that the moment it went viral..
it [sic] was too late and it was inevitable. I’m only surprised it took as long
as it did to be honest,” he explains.
In
fact, he says the police told him “Kudos, Sir“ and he received a ”thank you”
from an entire detectives squad. Another officer, he says, “is using it in a
positive manner in his presentation for the school system.”
“How’s
about those apples?” he asks. “Didn’t expect THAT when you called the cops did
you?”
Cheer Coach Gone Wild
A TX cheer coach has
been removed from her position after a student recorded her screaming at her
cheerleaders and calling them “highfalutin heifers.”
“Who
do you think you all are? Highfalutin heifers. You can just come and go as you
please? Fire me!” the coach, from the Houston area, was heard screaming.
“I think that’s too
much,” parent Khristina Melton told KPRC. “Even though they’re in high school, they
shouldn’t be called anything different.”
“The
term ‘heifer’ basically means overweight or obese,” Abel Olivares, the father
of the girl who recorded the rant, said. “It’s definitely a negative term.” He
wants the coach fired from her teaching job, too. Apparently the incident was
just one of many.
But
the coach isn’t the only one who got punished. Olivares’s daughter was
sentenced to two days of detention because she used her cell phone to record
the episode on school property and shared it with friends.
“They’re
supposed to be there to learn, feel safe, feel that the teacher is going to
have a high standard, just like they’re expected to do,” the dad added. “If nothing else, that audio protects another
kid from being yelled at or verbally abused, then you did a good thing.”
But
not everyone is buying it. One student told KPRC that yelling is just part of
what coaches do.
The
coaches name has not been released since she is not being charged with a crime.
What
do you think? Should the coach have been removed, and possibly fired, for
yelling at students?
Quote of the Day
Courage is a characteristic too many politicians -- and average
Americans -- lack. It's an essential element for success, sadly.
